Corporate Portraits in Reading for Hatch at One Station Hill

I recently spent a brilliant morning with the team at Hatch, capturing a fresh set of corporate portraits for their website and press materials. Hatch is a Reading-based business with a home in the brand new One Station Hill development, right opposite Reading train station. The building is so new the paint's practically still drying, which meant we had full run of the space to get creative.

As a portrait photographer in Reading, it’s always a treat to work somewhere with great natural light and modern textures. The main lobby, with its exposed concrete and huge glass windows, was a dream backdrop, slick, minimal, and visually interesting without being distracting.

Because we were moving around so much, I kept the setup light and agile: just one Godox AD100 flash on a compact Manfrotto stand, diffused through a medium umbrella. It’s a setup I trust, fast to move, fast to adapt, and it plays really nicely with available light. The flash helped pop each person subtly off the background without feeling over-lit. It’s a fine balance when you want the portraits to feel natural but polished.

The end result? A clean and contemporary set of corporate portraits that reflect both the professionalism and personality of the Hatch team, exactly what good business photography should do. As a Reading photographer, I love having the chance to shoot local companies in evolving spaces like One Station Hill.

Big thanks to the team at Hatch for making the morning so easy and fun, and for trusting me to create something sharp and timeless for their brand.
